Why the Cloud?
Why should you choose the Cloud over the hardware based alternative? For one thing, losing data is a key concern in most on-premise IT solutions and having a suitable backup solution can become very costly when working with large amounts of data. Furthermore, those hardware items eventually break down and become obsolete as the world of technology advances, whereas cloud solutions are constantly evolving.
Not only are cloud solutions majorly inexpensive in comparison to traditional IT solutions, but it allows you to store your data in a completely secure fashion that does not require you to worry about backing up your data. All you are required to have is a computer, an internet connection and a browser. This makes cloud solutions very user-friendly even for those with basic IT skills.
Is the Cloud growing?
A recent report from the Information Services Group conducted from more than 24,000 contract records, shows that Cloud Services being featured in the deals has tripled from 9% in 2010 to 27% in 2012. Cloud computing is currently one of the only areas in IT that is growing rapidly, and it’s easy to see why. Cloud computing allows businesses to focus on their core business activities, rather than worrying about future proofing their IT solutions and paying for expensive equipment they may never fully utilise. Cloud computing allows you to increase or decrease your capacity as you require, and you only pay for what you’re using.
