# A cyber security company in London for growing firms

Network London looks after cyber security for growing businesses, from our office near London Bridge and for clients worldwide. When your clients, insurers or investors send a security questionnaire, we help you answer it with confidence. We hold Cyber Essentials Plus ourselves, and we develop your security policies with you.

- Answer security questionnaires from clients, insurers and investors with confidence
- Policies developed with you, from access reviews to backup testing
- Training that helps your team spot a suspicious email and report it

## When security questions start arriving

What usually prompts the first call

- A client or insurer has sent a security questionnaire, and you're not sure where to start.
- A new contract asks for Cyber Essentials, and you need to know what that involves.
- Your investors or board want to see security policies, and the ones you have are out of date or missing.

We'll help you give answers that are honest and that you can back up.

## Answer your clients' security questions with confidence

Your clients, insurers and investors want to know you take security seriously. They ask through questionnaires, contract terms and due diligence. We help you work out what they're really asking, put the right protections in place and answer with confidence.

We hold **Cyber Essentials Plus** ourselves. Our Technical Director, Ian Welch, is CISSP and CEH certified, a qualified ISO 27001 lead implementer, and has more than 25 years' experience.

No one can honestly promise you'll never have a security incident. What we can do is tell you where you stand, what we'd recommend and how to show your clients the work is done.

Tell us what you've been asked and we'll come back to you today.

## How we look after your security

- **Policies built with you**: We develop your security policies with you, from access reviews to backup testing. They describe how your business actually works, so your answers hold up.
- **Monitoring around the clock**: Your systems are monitored 24/7 through our security operations centre, so anything unusual is picked up and dealt with.
- **Training your people**: Many security questions come back to people. We train your team in plain language to spot phishing and know what to do next.

## How we start

1. **Send us a message**: Tell us what you've been asked or what concerns you. Jessica, our Operations Director, replies personally the same day.
2. **We look at where you stand**: We start with your business: your people, how you work, the systems you rely on and where the risks are. Then we give you a clear view of what we'd recommend.
3. **We put it in place with you**: We make the changes, develop the policies with you and help you answer the questions in front of you. Then we keep it up to date.

## What our cyber security service includes

- **Security questionnaires**: We help you answer questionnaires from clients, insurers and investors, and fix any gaps they show up.
- **Security policies**: Policies developed with you, covering who has access to what, how often backups are tested and the steps in between.
- **Training and phishing tests**: Short, practical training and simulated phishing emails help your team recognise a scam and report it.
- **Vulnerability scanning**: Regular scans and audits of your network and systems find weaknesses, so we can fix them before they cause a problem.
- **Penetration testing**: A controlled test that tries to get in the way an attacker would, followed by a clear report of what to fix.
- **Dark web monitoring**: We check whether your company email addresses or passwords have appeared in leaked data, and tell you if they have.
- **Security operations centre**: Your systems are monitored 24/7, and anything unusual is looked into and acted on.
- **Protection on every device**: Security software on each laptop and server that spots suspicious activity and stops it spreading to other devices.

## Talk to us about cyber security

Send us a message about your business and what you've been asked for. Jessica, our Operations Director, replies personally the same day. The first step is a conversation about your business and where you need help.

### Who needs cyber security?

Any business that holds client data or relies on email and cloud systems needs it. It matters most when your own clients, insurers, investors or regulators expect you to show how you protect data. That's common in finance and investment, and in legal and professional services.

### What is managed cyber security?

Managed cyber security means an outside team looks after your security on an ongoing basis. With us, that covers the protections on your systems and devices, monitoring, staff training, and the policies and evidence you need when someone asks how you keep data safe. You get specialist help without building an in-house security team.

### Why use managed cyber security services?

The reasons clients usually give us:

- **Specialist knowledge**: security covers a lot of ground, and one in-house person rarely covers all of it.
- **Answers you can back up**: when a questionnaire arrives, the policies and evidence are already in place.
- **Kept up to date**: your systems, people and suppliers change, and the protections change with them.
- **Time back**: your operations lead stops carrying security worries alongside everything else.

If we also look after your [IT support](https://www.networklondon.co.uk/service/it-support), the same people who know your setup look after its security.

### What does cyber security do exactly?

Cyber security is the set of protections and habits that keep your data and systems safe. For a business, it usually covers:

- **Protecting data**: making sure only the right people can see client and company information.
- **Stopping common attacks**: filtering phishing emails, blocking malware and keeping software up to date.
- **Controlling access**: strong sign-in, multi-factor authentication and regular reviews of who can reach what.
- **Recovering well**: tested backups and a plan for what to do if something goes wrong.
- **Showing your work**: the policies and evidence that clients, insurers and regulators ask to see.

No business can be made completely safe, and we won't claim otherwise. Good security makes problems less likely and easier to recover from.

### What is the biggest weakness in cyber security?

Usually people, and that says more about busy working days than about the people. Common gaps include:

- **Weak or reused passwords**: one leaked password can open several accounts.
- **Phishing emails**: messages that look like they come from a colleague or supplier and ask for a password or a payment.
- **Out-of-date software**: updates close known security holes, so skipped updates leave them open.
- **Old access**: accounts left open after someone leaves, or people with access they no longer need.
- **Unmanaged devices**: phones and laptops that reach company data without being protected.

Most of these are fixed with sensible settings, regular access reviews and short, practical training. That is usually where we start.

### Can you help us answer a security questionnaire?

Yes. It's one of the most common reasons businesses get in touch. We usually:

- **Go through it with you**: we explain what each section is asking in plain English.
- **Check what's in place**: we compare your systems and policies with each question.
- **Close the gaps**: where the honest answer is ‘not yet’, we put the right controls or policies in place.
- **Keep the evidence**: so the next questionnaire takes less time.

You answer with confidence, and every answer is one you can back up. For contract requirements such as Cyber Essentials, see [our IT compliance service](https://www.networklondon.co.uk/service/managed-it-compliance).
