# IT compliance services in London for growing businesses

Network London helps growing businesses meet the security requirements in their contracts, questionnaires and regulations. That includes Cyber Essentials, GDPR and the policies your clients ask to see. We're based near London Bridge and support clients worldwide. We hold Cyber Essentials Plus ourselves, so we know the process from the inside.

- Help answering security questionnaires from clients and insurers
- Support to achieve Cyber Essentials when a contract asks for it
- Policies developed with you, from access reviews to backup testing

## When compliance lands on your desk

What usually prompts the call

- A new contract requires Cyber Essentials, and you need to know what's involved and how long it takes.
- A client or insurer has sent a detailed security questionnaire, and some answers depend on documents you don't have yet.
- Your policies were written a while ago, and nobody is sure they still match how the business works.

Compliance should describe how your business really works, so every answer you give is one you can back up.

## Compliance that matches how you work

Most compliance work starts with a request from someone else: a client, an insurer, an investor or a new contract. We help you understand what's being asked, put the right controls in place and develop the policies with you, so they describe how your business actually runs.

We hold **Cyber Essentials Plus** ourselves. Our Technical Director, Ian Welch, is a qualified ISO 27001 lead implementer and CISSP certified, with more than 25 years' experience.

Tell us what you've been asked for and we'll come back to you today.

## How we help with IT compliance

- **Clear on what's needed**: We read the contract clause, questionnaire or standard with you and explain in plain English what it asks for.
- **Regular checks**: Regular scans of your network and systems check that the controls are still in place and flag anything that needs fixing.
- **Evidence when asked**: We keep your compliance documents up to date, so when someone asks for evidence, it's ready to send.

- **20** years looking after IT for businesses
- **100+** businesses across the world trust us with their IT
- **17** people in the team, many of them here for years

## Talk to us about IT compliance

Send us a message about your business and what you've been asked for. Jessica, our Operations Director, replies personally the same day. The first step is a conversation about your business and where you need help.

### Who needs IT compliance?

Any business that holds personal or client data has obligations under GDPR. Beyond that, compliance usually becomes pressing when someone else asks for it: a client's security questionnaire, an insurer, an investor, or a contract that requires Cyber Essentials. That's common in finance and investment, and in legal and professional services.

### What is managed IT compliance?

Managed IT compliance means we look after the IT side of your compliance on an ongoing basis. We put the controls in place, develop your policies with you, run regular checks and keep the evidence up to date. When a new questionnaire or contract arrives, most of the work is already done.

### Why use managed IT compliance?

The reasons clients usually give us:

- **It saves time**: we know what the common standards and questionnaires ask for, so you're not starting from a blank page.
- **It stays current**: your systems, people and suppliers change, and regular checks keep your policies and evidence in step.
- **It builds trust**: you can show clients, insurers and investors the work behind your answers.

If we also look after your [IT support](https://www.networklondon.co.uk/service/it-support), the same people handle both, so nothing gets lost between teams.

### Is compliance part of cyber security?

They overlap. Cyber security is the protection itself: the settings, software and habits that keep data safe. Compliance is showing that those protections meet a standard, such as GDPR, Cyber Essentials or ISO 27001, and keeping the evidence.

You need both. Good security with no evidence leaves you unable to answer a questionnaire, and paperwork with no real security behind it won't stand up if it's tested. We help with both, alongside [our cyber security service](https://www.networklondon.co.uk/service/cyber-security).

### What is Cyber Essentials?

Cyber Essentials is a UK government-backed scheme that shows your business has protections in place against the most common cyber attacks. It covers five areas: a secure internet connection, secure devices and software, control over who can access data and services, protection against viruses and other malware, and keeping devices and software up to date.

Cyber Essentials Plus adds a hands-on check of your systems by an assessor. Some contracts ask for one or the other, and it can be a requirement for bidding on some government contracts. We hold Cyber Essentials Plus ourselves and can help you prepare for either.

### What is ISO 22301?

ISO 22301 is the international standard for business continuity. It sets out how an organisation plans for, responds to and recovers from disruption, such as losing an office, a key system or a supplier.

Working to it means knowing which parts of your business matter most, what could stop them and what you'd do if that happened. The plan is then tested and kept up to date.

It shows clients and staff that you have thought about disruption before it happens. We can help with the IT side of that planning, including [backup and disaster recovery](https://www.networklondon.co.uk/service/backup-and-disaster-recovery).

### What is ISO 27001?

ISO 27001 is the international standard for managing information security. It asks you to set up an information security management system: a structured way to find risks to your information and deal with them.

It covers all the information a business holds, whether digital, on paper or in the cloud, from financial records to client data and staff details.

Certification is a bigger step than Cyber Essentials and suits firms whose clients expect it. Our Technical Director, Ian Welch, is a qualified ISO 27001 lead implementer and can help you decide whether it's the right step for you.
