# IT support for private equity firms with investors to answer to

A private equity firm is a small team with serious responsibilities to its investors. Network London looks after IT and security for firms like that: policies and controls that pass operational due diligence, a real person on the phone when a deal is closing, and the same people looking after you year after year. We're a team of 17 near London Bridge and we hold Cyber Essentials Plus.

- IT and security policy shaped with you, ready for investor due diligence
- Partners and deal teams supported wherever they are, 24/7
- One team for IT, security, phones and projects

## Due diligence is asking questions your IT was never set up to answer

Does any of this sound familiar?

- An LP's operational due diligence questionnaire has landed and nobody can say with confidence who has access to the data room.
- Partners work from the office, from home and from portfolio companies, on whatever device is to hand.
- The person who handled IT on the side has left, or never existed.

A private equity firm doesn't need more IT. It needs IT it can show to its investors.

## IT and security that passes due diligence, from people who know your firm

We shaped the IT and cyber security policy for a private equity firm of 30 people whose investors expected to see it, and built a strong working relationship with them inside a year. The pattern is the same for most firms: multi-factor authentication everywhere, encrypted and protected laptops, written policies, tested backups, access reviews when people join and leave, and a named person accountable for security. We put it in place, keep the evidence and handle the day to day.

You deal with people who know you. A real person answers the phone, 24/7. Every ticket gets a human reply, and if a partner cannot work we prioritise them. For bigger problems we aim to identify the fix within **30 minutes**. For founders and partners whose day cannot stop, our VIP concierge service gives a direct line to a senior engineer who knows them.

Tell us what your investors have asked for, and we'll show you how we'd put it in place.

## What private equity firms get from Network London

- **Policies investors will accept**: Information security, access, acceptable use, AI and incident response, written for how your firm works. Read the [private equity client story](https://www.networklondon.co.uk/case-studies#private-equity).
- **Deal-week support**: When a transaction is closing, IT problems cannot wait. Your calls go to people who know your firm, and if someone cannot work they come first.
- **Judgement on the things you are buying**: One investment firm was having an AI platform built elsewhere. We reviewed it and found their data would be stored outside the UK and that they would not fully own what they were paying for. They went back to the supplier with the facts.

- **20** years looking after business IT
- **100+** businesses across the world trust us with their IT
- **24/7** support, with a real person on the phone

## How we start with a regulated firm

1. **A conversation about your firm**: Jessica, our Operations Director, replies the same day. We talk about your people, your systems, who audits you and what has been asked of you.
2. **We look at how you work, and at the gaps**: Your people, the systems you rely on, who has access to what and where the risks are. Then a clear, written view of what we would put in place and in what order.
3. **Handover, then the paperwork**: You meet the people who will look after you and see the handover plan before anything moves. Policies and evidence follow, so the next questionnaire is a form to fill in, not a project.

## IT support and security services for private equity firms

- **Security questionnaires answered**: When a client, insurer or investor sends a questionnaire, we work through it with you and put right anything that needs attention first.
- **Policies written with you**: Information security, access, acceptable use, AI use and incident response, written for how your firm works rather than copied from a template.
- **Access reviews and leavers**: Who has access to what, reviewed on a schedule. Leavers lose access on the day, which is the first thing a due diligence reviewer checks.
- **Multi-factor authentication everywhere**: On email, files, remote access and the systems your firm runs on. No exceptions for partners.
- **Protected and encrypted devices**: Every laptop encrypted, kept up to date and protected by endpoint security, wherever your people work.
- **Backups that are tested**: Backups run, and we test that they restore, so recovery is proven rather than assumed.
- **Secure working anywhere**: Partners and deal teams work from the office, home, portfolio companies and the road. We set devices and access up so that is safe, and so it can be shown to be safe.
- **Copilot and AI, with a policy**: A clear policy on what deal and investor data may be put into AI tools, approved tools set up properly, and Copilot rolled out with training built around adoption.

## Tell us what you need

Jessica, our Operations Director, reads every enquiry and replies personally the same day. The first step is a conversation about your business, what's working and where you need help.

Prefer to talk? Call [0333 335 5020](tel:+443333355020). A real person answers, always.

Thank you. Your message has been received and we'll be in touch shortly.

## Has an investor asked about your IT?

Tell us who is asking and what they want to see. Jessica, our Operations Director, replies to every enquiry personally, the same day.

### Do you provide IT support for private equity firms?

Yes. Network London looks after IT and cyber security for private equity and investment firms of 20 to 250 people, from our office near London Bridge. We already look after a private equity firm of 30 people whose IT and security policy we shaped with them. Support is from £1,000 a month.

### Can you help with operational due diligence from our investors?

Yes. We go through the questionnaire with you, put in place anything missing, and keep the policies and evidence current. Reviewers typically ask for multi-factor authentication, device encryption and protection, written policies, tested backups, an incident response plan, access reviews and a named security lead. Ian Welch, our Technical Director, is that named person for our clients.

### How do you support partners who are rarely in the office?

Laptops and phones are set up so they are encrypted, protected and able to reach everything securely from anywhere. Support is by phone and remote session, 24/7, from people who know the firm. Partners and founders can also have our VIP concierge service: a direct line to a senior engineer and priority support.

### Can you look after the IT of our portfolio companies too?

Often, yes. If a portfolio company has 20 or more people and needs the same standard of IT and security, we can look after it as a separate client, and the firm gets one point of contact.

### Do you understand DORA and FCA expectations?

FCA-regulated firms are expected to show operational resilience, and firms in scope of DORA must be able to document how they oversee their IT providers. We provide the documentation for our part, including due diligence information and an exit plan, and work alongside your compliance adviser. We are an IT and security provider, not a compliance consultancy.

### What does it cost?

From £1,000 a month, depending on the number of people, what you have in place today and what your investors expect. We'll give you a clear quote after a conversation about your firm. [See our pricing page](https://www.networklondon.co.uk/pricing).
