Network London

IT support for hedge funds and asset managers who cannot afford to stop

Hedge funds, asset managers and investment firms run on their systems and are judged on their controls. Network London looks after both: everyday IT support from people who know your firm, 24/7, and the security policies, access reviews and tested backups that investors and the FCA expect to see. We're a team of 17 near London Bridge and we hold Cyber Essentials Plus.

  • Controls and evidence ready for investor due diligence
  • A real person answers 24/7, and traders and portfolio managers come first
  • Security led by a named, certified Technical Director

Your systems cannot go down, and your investors want proof they won't

Does any of this sound familiar?

  • Trading, research and investor reporting all stop when the systems do, and your current provider treats you like any other office.
  • An investor's due diligence team wants your incident response plan and your last backup test, and neither exists on paper.
  • Analysts are pasting research and positions into AI tools and nobody has decided whether that is allowed.

For an investment firm, security is not an IT question. It is a question investors ask before they allocate.

Dependable IT and provable security for investment firms

We start with how your firm works: who needs what, when the market is open, which systems matter most and who is asking you to prove your controls. Then we put the basics in place properly: multi-factor authentication everywhere, encrypted and protected devices, tested backups, access reviews, written policies and an incident response plan, with Ian Welch, our Technical Director, as the named person accountable for security. We keep the evidence, so a due diligence request is answered from a folder rather than from memory.

Day to day, a real person answers the phone, 24/7. If a portfolio manager or trader cannot work, they come first, and for bigger problems we aim to identify the fix within 30 minutes. We also run phones, projects and Microsoft Copilot rollouts, so one team looks after the lot.

Tell us which systems cannot stop and who is asking for proof, and we'll show you how we'd look after both.

How we start with a regulated firm

  1. A conversation about your firm

Jessica, our Operations Director, replies the same day. We talk about your people, your systems, who audits you and what has been asked of you.

  2. We look at how you work, and at the gaps

Your people, the systems you rely on, who has access to what and where the risks are. Then a clear, written view of what we would put in place and in what order.

  3. Handover, then the paperwork

You meet the people who will look after you and see the handover plan before anything moves. Policies and evidence follow, so the next questionnaire is a form to fill in, not a project.

IT support and security services for hedge funds and asset managers

  • Security questionnaires answered

When a client, insurer or investor sends a questionnaire, we work through it with you and put right anything that needs attention first.

  • Policies written with you

Information security, access, acceptable use, AI use and incident response, written for how your firm works rather than copied from a template.

  • Access reviews and leavers

Who has access to what, reviewed on a schedule. Leavers lose access on the day, which is the first thing a due diligence reviewer checks.

  • Multi-factor authentication everywhere

On email, files, remote access and the systems your firm runs on. No exceptions for partners.

  • Protected and encrypted devices

Every laptop encrypted, kept up to date and protected by endpoint security, wherever your people work.

  • Backups that are tested

Backups run, and we test that they restore, so recovery is proven rather than assumed.

  • Cyber Essentials Plus

We hold it ourselves and help you get there. Clients and insurers increasingly ask for it by name.

  • Business continuity planned and tested

What happens if the office is unavailable, the internet fails or a laptop is lost, written down and tested, so investors can see the plan and your people know it.

Do you provide IT support for hedge funds and asset managers in London?

Yes. Network London looks after IT and cyber security for hedge funds, asset managers and investment firms of 20 to 250 people, from our office near London Bridge, with clients across the world. Support is from £1,000 a month.

Can you help us with investor operational due diligence?

Yes. We go through the questionnaire with you, put in place anything missing and keep the evidence current: multi-factor authentication, device encryption and protection, written policies, tested backups, an incident response plan, access reviews and a named security lead. Ian Welch, our Technical Director, is that named person for our clients.

What happens if our systems go down during market hours?

You call and a real person answers, 24/7. The people who move money come first. For bigger problems we aim to identify the fix within 30 minutes, and when a client's network failed we went to site, arranged a temporary connection so the team could keep working, and stayed on until everything was restored and tested.

Do you support Bloomberg, trading platforms and research systems?

We support the devices, network, identity and Microsoft 365 that those systems depend on, and we work with the vendors of specialist platforms when something needs fixing. Tell us what you run and we'll say exactly how we would look after it.

Can our analysts use ChatGPT and Copilot?

With a policy, yes. We write one with you covering what research, positions and investor data may be put into AI tools, which tools are approved and how they are set up, and we help roll out Microsoft Copilot with training built around adoption.

Do you understand FCA and DORA expectations for IT providers?

FCA-regulated firms are expected to show operational resilience, and firms in scope of DORA must document how they oversee their IT providers, including due diligence, audit rights and an exit plan. We provide that documentation for our part and work alongside your compliance adviser. We are an IT and security provider, not a compliance consultancy.
